One role

One position. One standard. A doctor trained until the work is theirs.

04
What you gain

Four things you cannot find
elsewhere in medicine

No chasing bloods. No ordering X-rays. Four things that are close to impossible to find elsewhere in medicine.

01 · Mastery

Closer to architecture than mechanics

Work at this level is closer to architecture than mechanics. Thousands of grafts, each placed by hand, each visible for life. You train until the judgement is yours, not borrowed.

02 · Mentorship

Inside the methodology he built

A working apprenticeship under Dr Ted, inside the methodology he built: contraction rate, tumescence protocol, graft geometry, TrichoLAB donor mathematics, and the advanced hair loss cases other clinics decline.

03 · Autonomy

Fewer cases, higher standard

Fewer cases at a higher standard. Time to prepare properly, operate without a volume target, and do the work the way it should be done.

04 · Legacy

Inherit a philosophy, not a vacancy

You are not filling a vacancy. You are inheriting a philosophy, with a place at the centre of what Calibre becomes.

05
Fit

Who this is for,
and who it is not

This is for you if

  • You are GMC registered with an interest in practical procedures. Your background specialty does not matter. Your aptitude does.
  • You can say “I don't know”, “teach me” and “I was wrong” without flinching.
  • You notice asymmetry, proportion and naturalness because you cannot help noticing.
  • You prepare properly, follow through, and feel it when a standard slips.
  • You want to become world-class and are willing to earn it slowly, over years.

This is not for you if

  • You want a platform or a following more than a craft.
  • Income and status are the engine. Money here is a consequence, not the driver.
  • You are after rapid independence or a quick route to your own practice.
  • If you can't work as part of a team to grow the clinic.

We would rather lose you at this page than at year two. Read both lists honestly.

06
The path

A long apprenticeship,
by design

There is no shortcut in the training because there is none in the work. Over years, not months, you move from observing, to assisting, to operating, to leading.

Observe

Nuances in private-sector practice and patient psychology that the right candidate will notice and the wrong one will miss.

Assist

You begin with fundamentals under close supervision.

Operate

Responsibility arrives as your judgement and your hands earn it.

Lead

The end point is a doctor trusted the way patients trust Dr Ted, at the centre of the institution Calibre is becoming.

07
About

Dr Ted
and Calibre

Dr Ted has developed an exacting approach to hair restoration. Where conventional practice accepts a constraint, he asks whether it is real. His clinical methodology considers factors rarely discussed elsewhere: contraction rate, tumescence protocol, graft geometry, TrichoLAB donor mathematics, 3D planning, and advanced hair loss cases that other clinics decline.

Calibre is the institution being built around that work. The models are teaching hospitals and craft ateliers, not other hair clinics. The ambition is for Calibre to be the place where hair restoration is being reinvented.

Reputation

Building on recognised work

Dr Ted Hair Transplants holds Elite Coalition status with the Hair Restoration Network, one of only 25 clinics in the world. Dr Ted is a member of the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons, and was invited to join the International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgery, which admits very few members globally.

You will help build Calibre to the same standard.

09
Proof

Evidence, not claims

The standard is visible in the work.

FAQ

Straight
answers

Do I need hair transplant experience?
No. Aptitude, judgement and temperament count for more than your CV. Training you completely is the point.
Where is this?
South Wales, near Cardiff.
What does it pay?
Doctors pay tens of thousands of pounds for courses to learn this skill. We are paying you to learn it properly: £40,000 to £50,000 in your first year, with rapid progression based on competency.
How long does the training take?
Years, not months. It is an apprenticeship, not a course.
What happens after I apply?
A written application and an assessment, scored against Dr Ted's values rather than sifted by CV. If your answers fit, you meet Dr Ted.
